LEXINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) – Vice President Joe Biden's wife Jill was in Lexington on Thursday.
She was at the Bluegrass Community and Technical College pushing the Obama administration's initiative to spend $8 billion to train two million workers through community colleges.

The idea is to give them technical skills needed to work in mid to high level jobs in growth industries.

"The President really is uplifting community colleges to all of America and saying, ‘Look at these colleges, look what they have to offer.” They are a great deal financially, you can go there for two years, you can transfer into a four year college, but better yet if you want a two years associates degree you will probably have a job waiting for you," said Dr. Jill Biden.

Kentucky has more than 100,000 students enrolled in 16 community and technical colleges.
