Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - University of Louisville President James Ramsey announced one of the largest single gifts to the university in the it's history.
Local businessman J.D. Nichols is making a $10 million gift to the university.
It will be paid over the next three to five years.
Nichols told Ramsey that he is putting no restrictions on the money, and the university could spend it however it chooses.
Nichols is a native Louisvilllian and a 1964 graduate of University of Lousville's Brandeis School of Law.
He's also chairman of local real estate development firm NTS Corp.
