Players from the Bluegrass expected to go in round 1 of NBA draft

(WHAS11) -- It is NBA draft day and several Kentucky-based players will be waiting to hear their name called.

The draft is Thursday night in New York city, and the first player from the Bluegrass to be taken off the board may be Kentucky Wildcat Julius Randle.

Also expected to be drafted, UK's James Young and Louisville Cardinal Russ Smith.

According to ESPN's latest Mock Draft, Randle is expected to go #7 overall to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Young is listed at #14 to the Phoenix Suns, and Smith is predicted to go somewhere in the middle of the second round.
