University Hospital makes cuts to save millions

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11)- University Hospital in Louisville is making cuts to help them save $2.5 million.

UofL hospital will close its sleep center in November, halt open-heart surgeries and limit non-emergency outpatient services for people who do not have insurance.

 Hospital officials had warned that the cuts were coming, saying the hospital does not get enough funding from the city and state.

The hospital's CEO says another $15 million will have to be slashed over the next two years.
