LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- American Airlines and US Airways have reached a deal to merge the two companies, creating the largest airline in the world.
Under terms of the deal US Airways CEO Doug Parker would be CEO of the merged airline which would keep the American Airlines name.
An official announcement is expected Thursday after boards of the two companies vote.
