LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)—UPS was busy on Friday getting refreshments ready for Saturday’s KDF Marathon and Mini-Marathon.
UPS loaded more than 322,000 cups, 3,274 gallons of refreshments and 16 tons of supplies for the race.
This is the tenth year that UPS has put their logistical experience to use to support the community and the Kentucky Derby Festival’s race.
UPS used 27 vehicles and 70 volunteers to deliver the supplies to the course.
Eastern High School’s Army JROTC along with volunteers from USP loaded the supplies onto the vehicles for delivery early Saturday morning.
The Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon/miniMarathon starts in downtown Louisville at 7:30 a.m.
