LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – This month marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic march on Washington and the University of Louisville is making plans of its own.
Dr. King delivered the famous “I Have a Dream” speech on August 28, 1963.
On August 28, U of L students, faculty and staff will take part in a commemorative speech after the march.
Louisville NAACP president Raoul Cunningham will deliver the keynote speech after the march. Cunningham was an attendee of the original march.
Other events at U of L include a panel discussion about Dr. King’s speech and a recitation of it.
