LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Two brothers accused of gunning down a teenager on a TARC bus back in the summer of 2012 are on trial.

Martin Keehn and Jeffrey Kingdon are charged with murder in connection with the death of Rico Robinson Jr.

The shooting happened in broad daylight on a Route 23 when the bus stopped near Goldsmith Lane. Police said Keehn and Kingdon got on the bus and shot Robinson multiple times.

Keehn’s attorney, Chris Moses, said Robinson robbed the two men on the day of his death and on previous occasions, and that the shooting stemmed from the robberies.

The two were offered a deal back in January that would have put them behind bars for 35 years, but they didn't accept.
