NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WHAS11) -- A man is arrested after Indiana State Police make a traffic stop at Spring Street and Silver Street on Thursday morning.
According to a news release, Joseph D. Powers, 41, was arrested for heroin and giving officers false information.
The report states that Powers, first gave police a fake name and date of birth. Through further investigation, Powers' real identity was discovered and was identified as a fugitive with two arrest warrants from Floyd County and one from Harrison County, Ind.
During the arrest, suspected heroin was found on Powers.
Powers is facing several charges including dealing in heroin and false informing.
The New Albany City Police Department assisted during this investigation.
