LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Accidents at two theme parks put safety in the spotlight.

A woman fell to her death from a roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas and at Cedar Point, seven people were injured after a log ride malfunctioned and flipped over.

While these type of accident are extremely rare, they do happen.

Here in Louisville, a 14-year-old girl's feet were severed by cables on the ride "Superman Power of Tower" in 2007, and in 1994, two cars collided on the "Starchaser" roller coaster, seriously hurting a 7-year-old girl.
