(WHAS11) – The Super Bowl needs a super sandwich, and the winner is the Bratzel made at Schnitzelbank in Jasper, Indiana. The Super 46 Contest was meant to showcase the best restaurants and foods in Indiana for the Super Bowl visitors.
The sandwich is made of bratwurst and sauerkraut on a pretzel with honey mustard. Everything is made locally. The Bratzel beat out the 45 other sandwiches by 63 percent.
Next week the restaurant will be taking some of their now-famous sandwiches up to the statehouse for the legislators to try. Workers at Schnitzelbank and patrons told WHAS11 News they think this recognition will help bring people to their special town.
