Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11)- Major movie studios were waiting until Monday to report the weekend box office numbers, in respect for the victim's of Friday’s movie theatre massacre in Colorado.
The New York Times and other media outlets report the batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises" made $162 million its opening weekend.
That would be the third highest opening ever, after "The Avengers" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two".
