LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Along Panther Creek Road in Falls of Rough there are some steep hills, but one proved to be fatal. The Grayson County Sheriff says four teens were traveling on a golf cart down the hill when they started to pick up speed.  The teenage driver hit the brakes, but the back tires locked up.  This caused the cart to go sideways and then flip over.

The sheriff says the cart rolled at least two times, throwing everyone onto the asphalt, hitting the pavement hard enough to smash the steering column.  Jordan Jackson, 15 was a passenger that ambulance rushed to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center for treatment. She was pronounced dead an hour later.

The driver and another passenger were treated for injuries at Twin Lakes as well.  None of the teenagers were wearing seatbelts.  The sheriff says driving golf carts on the road is illegal, especially since the teenager didn't have a driver’s license.

The Grayson County Sheriff says the accident is under investigation and will be looking into the violation. Jackson was a recent graduate of St. James Catholic School in the Highlands neighborhood.

Visitation for Jackson will be Thursday from noon to 8pm at Highlands Funeral Home on Taylorsville Road.
