Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - An Alabama teen got a front row seat to a wild police chase and crash during a ride-along with authorities.
This startling video, captured by 16-year-old Jared Hinkle, shows the violent, head-on collision that abruptly ends a high speed police chase.
Jared is in the Boy Scout Explorer program, where youths do ride-alongs with law enforcement to learn what it takes to wear a badge.
Police said after the crash the suspect resisted arrest and had to be tased to be handcuffed.
As for Jared, he's just fine and his shocking cell phone video will be used as evidence in that criminal trial.
