FRANKFORT, Ky. (WHAS11) – Kentucky’s House cleared legislation Monday that prohibits minors from using tanning beds.
House Bill 310 prohibits anyone under the age of 18 from using a tanning bed at a facility without a prescription.
Currently, minors between 14 and 18 can only use the beds with consent from a parent.
Representative David Watkins says the state needs to discourage teens from using the beds just as it has with smoking.
The measure now heads to the state Senate.
