LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) --Two suspects Metro Police said they believe injured two kids in an alleged drive-by shooting were arraigned in court Monday.
Willie Simms, 25, and Delisha Jeffery, 27, are both facing two counts of assault and one count of wanton endangerment.
They're believed to be connected to Saturday's shooting at 11th Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard where an 11-year-old girl was hit in the leg and a 7-year-old girl received a grazing wound to the back of her head. Both children were taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and were released from the hospital Sunday.
The presiding judge had this comment to say to Jeffery in court Monday, “By the grace of God you are only charged with an assault and not murder.”
Simms is being held on a $50,000 bond and Jeffery is being held on a $10,000 bond at Metro Corrections.
