LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Former Kentucky representative Steve Nunn wants to take back his guilty plea in the murder of his ex-girlfriend nearly five years ago.

Nunn is serving a life sentence for the 2009 murder of Amanda Ross in Lexington after pleading guilty in 2011.

On Tuesday, his attorneys filed a motion to withdraw that plea.

There is no word yet on when the judge will consider the motion.
