(WHAS11) -- Stephanie Decker, the mother who lost both legs shielding her children during the Henryville tornado, was honored on the Kentucky House floor Tuesday afternoon.
Decker asked Kentucky lawmakers to pass a Prosthetic Parity bill to help amputees.
She says without the law she still would have gotten prosthetics, but, they would not be as good as her current ones.
Her prosthetics have microchip technology which allows amputees to run and climb stairs. Most prosthetics do not have these capabilities.
So far no such bill has been introduced this session.
