LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)-- The Kentucky State Auditor is set to release a report on the $1.2 billion JCPS budget in the spring, but WHAS11 reporter Renee Murphy is searching for answers now.
Murphy has been investigating the price of education students in the Jefferson County Public School system and last month reported on the lack of funding for textbooks throughout the state.
Recently, she has found such spending as nearly $27,000 spent on a Las Vegas conference and a state park retreat, plus more than $100,000 spent on field trips to the Kentucky Science Center and the Louisville Ballet and the Louisville Orchestra.
Murphy spoke with JCPS officials and teachers and has the latest on this developing story.
