LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Brittany Ware, she’s a Spencer County High School junior who has her share of challenges.

Ware is battling Down syndrome, diabetes and a lung disease.

Her special education teacher Kathy Fickle sent out a video via YouTube wanting everyone to know Ware is a whole lot more.

Fickle also shared her big dream of going to the Big Apple and meeting the personalities on her favorite show, ABC’s Good Morning America.

Unsuspecting to Ware, WHAS11 pulled a few string to help make the dream come true.

Good Morning Kentuckiana anchors Kelsey Starks and Andy Treinen invited Ware and her mother Lynn to the show Thursday morning for the big reveal.

GMA anchor Robin Roberts asked Ware to be their special guest on the show June 17.

Ware, with her family, will travel to New York for a trip which includes meeting Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and the rest of the Good Morning America crew.

It’s a trip of a lifetime thanks in part to a special education teacher who saw something special in Ware.

Most asked the question: “Who is Brittany Ware?” She’s all of these things and despite the challenges, she still dared to dream big.

That’s a lesson to us all.
