LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Just hours after post-Thunder traffic caused gridlock on downtown streets and interstates, an event hosted by the Louisville Zoo led to plenty of backups.
The gorgeous Kentuckiana sunshine led many to drive out to the Louisville Zoo for their annual Earth Day festival.
Those anxious to get the special $3 rate caused large traffic backups on the Watterson Expressway including the Newburg and Poplar Level Roads exits.
Families were able to enjoy special zoo fun including checking out animals enjoying Glacier Run.
The Louisville Zoo also had environmental displays set up, teaching guests about how they can make a difference in conservation at the local, national and global levels.
