BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The widow of slain Bardstown Police officer Jason Ellis has issued a letter thanking the community of Nelson County.

The letter comes after Jason Ellis was ambushed and killed Memorial Day weekend in Nelson County.

In the letter Amy Ellis asks “you continue to pray not only for me, Hunter and Parker, but for all officers and all others involved.”

Jason Ellis’ killer has not been found despite the large reward being offered. Kentucky State Police Trooper Jeff Gregory said reward money in the case now totals $218,000.
