(WHAS11) - A study with some obvious results has been released and is being talked about; research finds that sitting less can help make you live longer.
The study found that Americans who spent less than three hours a day sitting lived an average of two years longer than those who did. Getting off the couch and watching less than two hours of TV a day can also add over a year to your life.
The lead researcher says even just standing while you work can make a huge difference.
Past studies have linked excessive sitting with increased health risks such as diabetes and cancer.
