Sinkhole opens up, swallows car in Evansville, Ind.

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - A driver and his three passengers were not hurt when a huge sinkhole swallowed their car in Evansville, Ind.

The group had stopped at a stop sign Friday afternoon when the driver said the car began to feel weird and started to sink.

All four climbed to safety before the car's front end sank into the hole.

Police said the hole is 12 feet wide and 16 feet deep.

The sink hole was caused by a water main and sewer line failed in the area.
