NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WHAS11)—Part of the Sherman Minton Bridge eastbound will be closed during overnight hours starting this weekend.
The Indiana Department of Transportation is closing the right lane on I-64 on the evening of Sunday, June 29. Travel will continue in the left and center lanes between 6:30 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Monday and possibly Tuesday.
On Tuesday night, possibly Wednesday night lane restrictions will switch to the left and center lanes and travel will only be allowed on the right lane.
The crews are working to repair pavement joints, flush drains and clean drainage pipes from locations on and under the bridge’s lower deck.
Weather can cause the work schedule to be altered.
