LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Shamrock Foundation rescued a 2-year-old dog they’ve dubbed “Andre” for his fighting spirit.
Andre was found anemic, dehydrated and emaciated weighing only 70 pounds.
Normally, Great Danes of this age should weigh 115 pounds.
Andre received two blood transfusions that rescuers say helped save his life.
Now he’s being rehabilitated at Blue Pearl Veterinary Clinic.
“When you meet him, you will fall in love and whoever gets this gentle giant will get the gift of his love. I think everyone at Blue Pearl would like to take him home,” Mary Casey of the Shamrock Foundation said.
Once Andre is in full recovery, he’ll go live with a foster family but Shamrock says he still needs a forever home.
