FISHERVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Taylorsville Road was temporarily closed after a serious accident Tuesday morning.
The accident happened around 7 just east of the Gene Snyder Freeway.
Police said 28-year-old John Burd of New Haven was heading eastbound on Taylorsville Road in his Ford Focus when he swerved into the westbound lane, hitting a SUV and a van head-on.
Burd was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at 12:22 p.m.
The driver of the van is reported to have suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver and passenger in the SUV were not hurt.
