LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- One person is dead after a single vehicle accident on the Gene Snyder Freeway. The victim has been identified.

The driver, 29-years-old Anthony Sands of Terre Haute, Ind. was killed.

The tractor-trailer rig was traveling north on the Snyder when it veered off the road and into the woods nearby.

Images captured from Sky11 show the truck lost a load of lumber when it crashed.

At the time it was carrying construction lumber which hit the cab of the truck and came out the side of the trailer.

“The call came in from neighbor, saw smoke coming from truck, heard the boom, went into the woods,” Jodie Imel, Fire Marshall with the Jeffersontown Fire Department, said.

Police are investigating what could have caused this accident.

No one else was hurt.
