GREEN COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) — Police in Green County, Ky. have found a 2-year-old girl who wandered away from her home Wednesday night.

Greensburg Police said Ciera Cooper disappeared around 8 p.m. from the Union Church Road area.

Police said two dogs were with the girl when she went missing and one of the dogs returned to the home soaking wet. A search of a pond in the area turned up nothing. Police then focused their search on a nearby wooded area.

Cooper was found by a neighbor, Tim Arnold, in a creek about two miles from her home. Arnold said one of the dogs, called Daisy, was with her and apparently stayed with her throughout the night.

Police said Cooper did sustain minor injuries and was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

The sheriff's department said they're still investigating and it is possible they could end up filing criminal charges.

WHAS11's Chelsea Rabideau is in Green County talking with Arnold and the family, she will have more on this story coming up during the evening newscasts.
