LOUISIVLLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Residents of a Louisville neighborhood are up in arms over noisy planes they say are keeping them up all night.
People that live directly in the flight path want it to stop. They are posting videos of loud planes and noise meters online. Some are even going door to door sharing flight data and trying to convince Louisville Regional Airport that their neighborhood is noisy enough to qualify for the federal "Quieter Home" program. The program pays for things like insulation and sound resistant windows to make the home less noisy. Currently, the average noise level falls just short of the federal guidelines.
WHAS11's Adam Walser went to Schnitzelburg and talked to neighbors about qualifying for the federal program. Click on the video player above for more.
