(WHAS11) – My son Seth snapped this picture at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 30 as my wife and he checked out one of the area’s most amazing walking trails.
Head to downtown Anchorage in eastern Jefferson County. Take your dog if you want. Park in the free parking spots and you’ll see the entrance to the Anchorage Trail.
Right now you’ll see the huge sections of sunflowers beginning to bloom. They are planted in row after row and stretch long distances.
John Schnatter and his wife Annette invested $4 million to create this amazing greenway. Every turn unveils pathways of different native Kentucky grasses, and wildflowers. It opened in June of 2008.
I guarantee, whatever impression you may have of Schnatter and his business, you will literally walk away saying this is one of the most amazing private investments now open to the public.
