LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- "Friends of Eastern Cemetery" has been hard at work at Louisville cemeteries over the past year.

Those in the group helped clean up Eastern Cemetery, which was abandoned after it went into bankruptcy.

During their ceremony today, they were able to help people to graves of their loved ones and point them in the right direction after their clean-up and restoration efforts.

They were glad to help honor those veterants on this Memorial Day.

They also made an announcement about the launch of Sacred Spaces network.

Sacred Spaces will focus on helping people who work to maintain and preserve places like cemeteries, churches and church school buildings.

The network creators said they hope members cant talk about issues they are facing and help each other.

Eastern Cemetery is one of three Louisville cemeteries currently in bankruptcy.
