(WHAS11) -- A former Southern Indiana deputy clerk is facing charges after police say she failed to collect and process more than $100,000 in traffic fines.
Debra Montgomery worked as the Crawford County Deputy Clerk from 2002 until 2011.
Police say during that time, Montgomery failed to collect and process more than $100,000 in traffic fines. The investigation also revealed that some tickets that had been adjudicated were never sent to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles to be processed.
Montgomery has been charged with theft, obstruction of justice and official misconduct.
