HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) – The reward for information about the shooting and death of a pair of western Kentucky whooping cranes has more than doubled.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says more than $15,000 has been offered since the cranes were shot in November near the Pond River.
One of the birds was euthanized.
Whooping cranes are protected under federal law.
