LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man wanted for a shooting that left a man in critical condition.

Police arrested Mark Bolan, of Louisville, Wednesday afternoon. He's now charged with Assault, Tampering with Evidence and Wanton Endangerment.

A residential neighborhood turned into a crime scene on Monday afternoon after police said shots were fired inside a moving blue car heading south in the 300 block of Shawnee Dr. Police said the gunfire started after a fight between at least two people in the vehicle.

“I heard a noise behind me, just screeching out, and it scared me, so I turned around, and I saw that light pole get snapped by the car,” Danny Peterson said.

Peterson is a roofer who was working in the area. The car came to a stop in someone’s front yard several houses down. He ran to help the people inside the car along with another man.

“He screamed out, ‘The guy in the backseat has got a gun!’ and we saw the gun, so I just turned my back and took off and started running. I jumped a fence because I was scared. I was scared I was going to get shot,” Peterson said.

He said the victim of the shooting was the driver of the car. Witnesses also reported seeing another passenger in the car, plus the shooter.

“We saw the guy that did it. He just walked right down that alley like nothing happened. Just like he was on a Sunday picnic or something like he didn’t care,” Peterson said.

Police have not released the victim’s identity.
