WASHINGTON (WHAS11) – Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is making headlines after his appearance on Meet the Press where he spoke about former President Bill Clinton’s affair with a White House intern.
Paul argued that Democrats should bear that scandal in mind before criticizing Republican’s stance on women’s issues.
“The Democrats, one of their big issues is they have concocted and said Republicans are committing a war on women. One of the workplace laws and rules that I think are good is that bosses shouldn't prey on young interns in their office,” Paul said. “And I think really the media seems to have given President Clinton a pass on this. He took advantage of a girl that was 20 years old and an intern in his office.”
Paul went on to say that if Hillary decides to run for president in 2016, her husband’s infidelity shouldn’t be used against her.
Paul has said he’ll make a decision this year about whether he’ll make a presidential run of his own.
