LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)-- From the Terrace Lounge to the paddock, people were celebrating all things Americana.

Race fans packed Churchill Downs for the last Downs After Dark until September. The theme was Americana, full of American flags and denim.

We found plenty of creative getups.

"I already had the dress, but she made both of our fascinators," one attendee said.

And America wasn't the only thing people were celebrating.

"We're just excited to be here, we were excited to dress up for the theme. And we're celebrating her birthday tonight too," said Brook Smith, an attendee.

Several people were celebrating birthdays with friends while getting to dress up and watch night racing.

“Well it's actually our good friends birthday party tonight and it's America night, so you gotta celebrate," Kyle Proctor, a race fan, said.

Between the music and the races, Churchill Downs can chalk up another successful night at the track.

Downs After Dark returns on September 5, with a College Rivalry Night theme, so prep your Card, Cat and Hoosier gear for the next time you catch watch racing under the lights.
