LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Pleasure Ridge Park High School Principal David Johnson has been reassigned to duties within the district pending the outcome of an investigation that alleges Johnson allowed a private business to operate on the school's property.
The 24-page report from the Office of Education Accountability alleges Johnson allowed PRP's baseball coach Bill Miller to operate a private business called Midsouth Baseball, Inc on school property without board approval. The OEA reports Miller's company used the school's address as its own.
"The school knew months ago that OEA was involved," Ben Jackey, JCPS spokesperson, said.
During that time, Jackey said JCPS began its own investigation into the report, which happens to coincide with a biannual audit of the school's activity fund.
"In 2012, JCPS conducted its own investigation and they determined there were transactions, at least one with Midsouth Baseball, Inc. and there was a disciplinary record put in Coach Miller's file. It was determined at the time the principal at PRP did not know at the time that was occurring," Jackey said.
The report alleges Principal Johnson knew all along.
Sources say Johnson will not be at PRP Wednesday when students return.
PRP's baseball coach Bill Miller is still employed with JCPS.
