OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Two people have resigned on Wednesday, April 23, after an Oldham County pre-school student was left on a bus for about three hours on Monday, April 21.

The special needs student was picked up by a bus heading to Oldham County Preschool in Buckner, Ky.  Monday at 10:40 a.m., but never got off the bus.

The child's mother went to the school to pick him, but he was not there Monday afternoon.  It was soon learned the boy was left on the bus. The child was located on the same bus he was picked up in at 2:35 p.m.

The bus driver and monitor involved in this incident have resigned. Driver Gregory Clickner was hired in November 2012 and monitor Sharon Machi was hired in September of 2010.

The bus was parked at the bus compound in Oldham County and the boy was unharmed.

Oldham County Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
