LOUISVILLE, Ky . (WHAS11) -- LMPD is investigating after a fatal accident on Dixie Highway Friday afternoon. The collision caused Dixie Highway to be shut down for several hours.
It happened around 4 p.m. on Dixie Highway at Katherine Station Road. Authorities say the driver of a red Chevy was northbound on Dixie Highway and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle crossed over into the southbound lanes of Dixie Highway and struck a male motorcyclist and another vehicle.
Donald Dennison, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Chevy was taken to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the 3rd vehicle was not injured. The LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating.
