Two victims identified in Shelby Co. crash

SHELBY COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11) – Police have released the identities of two Good Samaritans who were killed while assisting a crash involving six people.

Shelby County Deputy Coroner Jeff Ivers said 71-year-old Charles Burtt of Broad Run, Va. and 33-year-old Jamaal Wood from Louisville died of blunt force injuries after being hit by a semi near the Waddy exit.

At the time of the previous accident, multiple vehicles were involved and one person was transported to Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville.

All westbound lanes are currently open after being shut down since noon Monday.
