(WHAS11) -- Oldham County police are asking for the public's help in finding the persons responsible for placing tacks along the Ironman triathlon route on Sunday.
According to a report by Oldham County police, tacks/roofing nails were found scattered along the Ironman triathlon route on US 42 between Bluegrass Parkway and Hwy 524 East at 10 a.m. and again at 2 p.m.on Sunday. The tacks caused several bicycles and an EMS unit to suffer from flat tires.
Unmarked units in the are were unsuccessful in identifying those responsible.
Anyone with any information relating to the tacks/roofing nails scattered along the Ironman triathlon route is encouraged to contact the Oldham County Police at (502) 222-1300.
