Police search for missing Perry County, Ind. man

HARRISON COUNTY, Ind. (WHAS11) – Indiana State Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing Perry County man.

Police say 55-year-old George “Ronald” Schmidt Jr. was last seen on February 27 in Mauckport, Indiana after playing a few games of pool and having drinks at the River Bottom Inn.

According to the report, Schmidt left the bar leaving behind his coat and an unfinished drink.

Police add that his 1999 Honda CRV was located in the bar parking lot but family member say the last time they had contact with Schmidt was around 8:30 p.m., the same night of his disappearance.

Schmidt was supposed to start a new job and didn't show up for his shift. His family now believes he is in danger.

Schmidt is described as a 55-year-old white male, 6 feet tall and approximately 200 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes and was wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans, tennis shoes, a ball cap and glasses.
