Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Metro police are investigating two homicides and they say there could be a possible connection between them.

Family members say that the two men murdered were life-long best friends and were last seen together at 1:00 Thursday morning.

Police say around 6:00 Thursday morning shots were fired on 39th Street. The body of 32-year-old Antoine Ellis was later found in an alley in the 200 block. Ellis was shot multiple times.

Police say Ellis could have been in the alley for more than an hour.

Then around 9:30 a.m., the body of 33-year-old Deshon Johnson was found in the 4200 block of Bank Street at the home of his 14-year-old daughter and her grandmother. Police say he was shot one time. He had an arrest record that included cocaine possession and some lesser charges.

Police believe these may be connected due to the close proximity of time and distance of the shootings.

There are no suspects at this time.
