LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville Metro Police are investigating the death of two people found in a home at 42nd Street and Garland Avenue in the Chickasaw Neighborhood as a murder-suicide.

Police said they were called to the home just after 5 p.m. where they found the body of a man and a woman, both in their 30s. An 9-month-old baby, which belonged to the man and woman, was also found inside the home unharmed.

According to the coroner, the bodies have been identified as 37-year-old Deandre Starling and 35-year-old Jacinta Malone.

According to police, the woman shot her boyfriend before calling police to come get her 9-month-old son and then proceeded to shoot herself.

Police said the two were having relationship problems.

The baby was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital for observation on Tuesday evening.

Editor's note: During a press conference on Wednesday police said the baby was 11-months-old but he is actually 9-months-old as originally reported.
