Police investigate homicide in Frankfort, teen found dead in parking lot

FRANKFORT, Ky. (News Release) -- Police are investigating a homicide at the Austin Park Apartments in Frankfort that happened early Monday morning.

At around 1:30 a.m. Monday, Frankfort Police received a call of a shooting in the 300 block of By Pass Plaza Drive at Austin Park Apartments. 

Responding officers found a 16-year-old black male victim in the parking lot, suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Franklin County Coroner’s office. 

Officers are currently trying to locate a white two-door Honda with a factory spoiler, that is believed to be occupied by a dark-skinned black male with a red hat and a light-skinned black male. Both individuals  appear to be in their 20’s and may have information relating to this crime. 

The investigation is ongoing.
