LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man is facing some serious charges after he was accused of attacking his mother.

According to the arrest warrant, the attack happened last week when Jason Godard came home after a night of drinking and he got into an argument with his mom after she asked him to move out.

After arguing, the mother fell asleep in a chair and woke up when Godard began punching her in the face, police said. Godard then grabbed his mother by the hair and drug her out of the chair where she was sleeping. The warrant states Godard then began screaming at his mother that he was going to rape and kill her, and rape his brother.

Godard continued to hit, kick and strike his mother with a walking stick, police said, until his brother came into the room and pulled him off their mother. Godard was then bitten by his mother's dog and that is when he threatened to kill the dog by "throwing it over the bridge and watching it hit the ground," according to the warrant.

Police said Godard put the dog in a head and leg lock, then turned his attention back to his mother when she pulled the dog away from him.  The warrant states Godard knocked his mother's phone from her hand and pulled the home phone from the wall outlet when she tried to call 911.

The confrontation finally came to an end when Godard's mother grabbed the bother and ran from the home while Godard was punching his brother in the back of the head, police said. The mom and brother made their way to a neighbor's house and called 911.

When police arrived on the scene, they said Godard was gone and he took the dog with him.

The mother sustained a "broken cheek" and was taken to Norton Hospital for treatment.

Godard is charged with 2nd degree assault, 4th degree assault, wanton endangerment, cruelty to animals and terroristic threatening.
