LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville woman has been arrested after police say she stole meat from a local Kroger store because her son stole her food stamp card.
Police say Cynthia Standley stole merchandise totaling $117.95 from the Kroger in the 2700 block of Broadway. An officer observed Standley putting several packages of meat inside her purse.
When questioned by police, Standley admitted to trying to steal the food because her son, who has a drug problem, had stolen her food stamp card.
Standley was already banned from Kroger's for an incident in 2008 where she was alleged to have stole items from the grocery store chain.
