Police: Man uses bomb threat as excuse to rob store

Police said 35 year-old Lewis LaRoche went to the counter of the Rite Aid on Dixie Highway and gave the clerk a note stating there was a bomb in the store in order to rob the store.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Campbellsville, Ky. man is facing robbery charges after said he used a bomb threat as an excuse to rob a Louisville pharmacy.

Police said 35 year-old Lewis LaRoche went to the counter of the Rite Aid on Dixie Highway and gave the clerk a note stating there was a bomb in the store. The note also stated LaRoche detonate the bomb if the clerk didn't give him all the money in the drawer.

Laroche left the store with the money, police said, followed by the Rite Aid's loss prevention associate. He was later identified by the Rite Aid employee and a customer.

When police arrested LaRoche they said he $95 in cash on him.
