LOUISVILLE, Ky -- A man arrested for allegedly stealing merchandise from a local Walmart is facing additional charges after police said he lied about his identity and pretended to be his brother.

According to police, James Forbes was arrested for stealing $648 from the Walmart on Diann Marie Drive. When police questioned him, they say he pretended to be his brother, Corey Anderson, and provided them with his birthday and address.

When Forbes failed to show for his first court appearance, police went to Anderson's home and took him into custody.

Anderson then, according to reports, told officers his brother was the real suspect and he had given police a false identity.

Police then arrested Forbes and charged his with giving officers a false identity and theft.
